Buying guide

How to choose plastic processing machinery

Start with the material and the job

Tell us the plastic you are working with, the sheet size and thickness, and whether the work is production or repair. That decides the process and the machine size.

Match capacity to your workload

Compare working area, power, speed and automation against your real volumes, not only the biggest job you expect.

Plan the whole process

Cutting, finishing, forming and welding often work together. Plan extraction, cooling and consumables such as welding rod, nozzles and lenses alongside the machine.

Questions

Plastic processing machinery: common questions

What plastic processing machinery does Plasquip supply?

Plasquip supplies CO₂ laser cutting and engraving machines, CNC routers and cutters, flame and diamond-edge polishing machines, Formech vacuum forming, GEISS thermoforming and trimming systems, Shannon and other plastic bending machines and strip heaters, hot-wire foam cutters, ultrasonic cutters, WELDY plastic welding equipment and plastic sheet butt-welding machines.

Can I buy machinery online, or do I need a quote?

Larger machinery is supplied by written quotation so that we can price freight to your delivery address. Prices shown exclude GST and freight is quoted separately. Smaller items such as welding rods, nozzles and accessories can be ordered online where an Add to cart button is shown. Request a quote or call 1300 722 868.

Which plastic welding process should I choose?

Hot-air welding tools suit fabrication, repair and on-site maintenance. Extrusion welders give higher deposition rates for larger thermoplastic fabrication and repair work. Automatic plastic welding machines are intended for repeatable production work, and butt-welding machines join plastic sheet. See hot-air welding tools, extrusion welders and automatic welding machines.

Do you supply welding rods, nozzles and spare parts?

Yes. Browse welding rods and nozzles and accessories online. For spare parts, send the machine model, serial number and a photo on our spare parts page so we can identify the correct part.
