Reinforced gummed paper tape 70mm x 305m (SKU: GRT-70305) is a water-activated carton sealing tape designed for warehouses, fulfilment centres, e-commerce dispatch operations and general industrial packaging environments. The tape is moistened by a compatible water-activated tape (WAT) dispenser and bonds directly into the fibres of the cardboard carton, forming a firm seal that holds through storage and transit.

Key Features of Reinforced Gummed Paper Tape 70mm x 305m

  • Water-activated adhesive: The adhesive is wetted by a manual or electronic WAT dispenser as the tape is pulled through. Once applied, it bonds into the cardboard surface for a secure, consistent carton seal.
  • Tamper-evident finish: Attempting to remove the tape after bonding will normally damage the carton surface, providing a clear visual indication of any interference during storage or transit.
  • Reinforced construction: The reinforced build provides additional strength for heavier cartons, export packaging and boxes subject to more demanding handling conditions where plain gummed tape may not provide sufficient strength.
  • 70mm width: The wider format gives greater coverage across carton flaps, making it a practical choice for larger cartons or operations that require broader flap coverage.
  • 305m roll length: The longer roll reduces changeover time at busy packing stations, suiting operations with higher daily throughput and fewer operators available for roll changes.
  • Paper-based and recyclable: The tape can remain with the cardboard in standard recycling streams, supporting sustainability goals without requiring a separate sorting step.
  • Professional presentation: Provides cartons with a clean, consistent paper seal suited to dispatch rooms, fulfilment centres and branded packaging environments.

Typical Applications

Reinforced gummed paper tape 70mm x 305m is commonly used to seal corrugated cardboard cartons in dispatch rooms, fulfilment centres, warehouses, retail back-of-house areas and manufacturing stores. It suits e-commerce orders, spare parts, boxed goods, giftware, samples and general freight cartons. The reinforced construction makes it a practical choice for heavier cartons and export packaging. The combination of 70mm width and 305m roll length is particularly well suited to operations with higher daily throughput, where wider flap coverage and fewer roll changes both contribute to a more efficient packing bench.

How to Use This Tape

Use reinforced gummed paper tape 70mm x 305m with a compatible manual or electronic water-activated tape dispenser. The dispenser wets the adhesive as the tape is pulled through, and the operator applies the tape across the carton flap. Applying firm pressure ensures the adhesive makes full contact with the cardboard surface, achieving the best seal and tamper-evident result. Consistent wetting and even pressure are the two most important factors in achieving a reliable bond.

Choosing the Right Gummed Paper Tape

When selecting between reinforced and plain gummed paper tape, the key considerations are carton weight, carton size, storage conditions and the handling the package will receive. Reinforced tape is generally chosen for heavier cartons or freight where extra strength is needed. Wider formats such as 70mm provide greater coverage across larger carton flaps, while the 305m roll length reduces operator downtime at high-volume packing benches. Before ordering, confirm that the 70mm roll width is compatible with your existing dispenser to ensure the tape feeds correctly and the adhesive is activated evenly across the full width. If your operation runs lower daily volumes or requires a shorter roll, the Reinforced Gummed Paper Tape 70mm x 100m is available as a practical alternative.
