The round pack tensioner 12-19mm steel strap is a purpose-built hand tool designed to apply consistent, controlled tension to steel strapping around round, cylindrical, or irregularly shaped loads. Where standard flat-bed tensioners lose contact on curved surfaces, this tool is specifically engineered to accommodate those profiles - and it operates entirely without power or compressed air.
The following features define how this round pack tensioner performs across a range of steel strapping tasks:
Unlike flat-bed tensioners designed for strapping across flat surfaces, the round pack tensioner 12-19mm steel strap features a profile that accommodates the curvature of cylindrical items. The operator feeds the strap around the load, engages the tool, and progressively winds up tension until the required level is reached. Once tensioning is complete, a pusher seal is applied separately to lock the strap joint, and the tail end is then cut. This two-step process - tension then seal - is standard practice in round pack steel strapping and helps produce a consistent, secure joint on every load.
The round pack tensioner for 12-19mm steel strap is used across industries where cylindrical or round products need to be secured for storage or transport. Common applications include bundling steel coils and wire reels, securing pipe and tube sections, strapping timber rounds or logs, and stabilising drums or cylinders. It is well suited to warehousing, steel distribution, manufacturing, and logistics operations where steel strapping is the preferred method of unitising or reinforcing loads due to its strength and resistance to elongation.
This round pack tensioner 12-19mm steel strap is part of the broader Pacmasta steel strapping tool range. To complete the strapping process, you will also need a sealer to crimp the pusher seals after tensioning, and a strap cutter to trim the tail end. For applications on flat or box-shaped loads where a long-handle flat-bed tensioner is more appropriate, the Pacmasta HD L/Handle Steel Tensioner To 19mm is an alternative within the same strap width range. Selecting the right tensioner style for your load shape improves both operator efficiency and strap joint consistency.
