The Pac-King PET composite tensioner 38mm is a hand-operated strapping tool designed to apply firm, controlled tension to PET (polyester) and composite strapping up to 38mm wide. Built for operators working at floor level or directly at the point of pack, it provides a straightforward and repeatable way to secure loads before a seal or buckle is applied.

Key Features of the PET Composite Tensioner 38mm

The following features make this PET composite tensioner 38mm a practical choice for industrial and freight strapping operations:

  • Compatible with PET (polyester) strapping materials
  • Compatible with composite strapping materials
  • Suits strap widths up to 38mm
  • Hand-operated design for portability and ease of use
  • Purpose-rated for woven and composite strap, which are stiffer and carry higher tension than polypropylene strapping

How It Works

A hand tensioner grips the strapping and uses a ratchet or winding mechanism to draw the strap tight around a load before a seal or buckle is applied. PET and composite strapping materials are stiffer and capable of carrying higher tension than polypropylene strap. Using a tensioner that is correctly rated for these material types is important - both for achieving a secure result and for reducing the risk of strap slippage or load movement during transit. The Pac-King PET composite tensioner 38mm is designed specifically for PET and composite materials, helping operators achieve a consistent tension on each load without over- or under-tensioning the strap.

Typical Applications

The Pac-King PET composite tensioner 38mm suits a wide range of industrial and freight applications where wide, high-strength strapping is required. Common uses include securing heavy palletised goods, bundling timber, steel, or building materials, unitising large cartons or crates, and preparing export or long-haul freight loads. It is well suited to warehouses, manufacturing facilities, timber yards, steel merchants, and logistics operations that regularly handle bulky or heavy loads requiring firm strapping across a wider footprint than narrower strap widths allow.

Choosing the Right Tensioner

Matching your tensioner to your strap type and width is essential for operator efficiency and load security. The Pac-King range covers a variety of strap widths and materials, so it is worth confirming your strap specification before selecting a tool. If you are working with woven or composite strap in a similar width range, the Pac-King HD Tensioner For Woven-Composite Up To 40mm may also be worth considering for your application. Having the correct tensioner in your strapping kit helps ensure each load is strapped consistently and safely, reducing the chance of rework or load failures.
