Key Features of This Single Notch Sealer for 16mm Steel Strap

The following features make this single notch sealer 16mm steel strap tool a practical, dependable choice for manual strapping applications:

  • Designed for 16mm steel strapping - ensures a correct, consistent fit with every use, eliminating the risk of mismatched tooling
  • Heavy duty single notch sealing action - crimps a metal seal around the overlapping strap ends, creating a firm, load-bearing joint
  • Compatible with PN-1625 pusher seals - use the correct seal type for reliable, repeatable results
  • Compact tool dimensions (44mm × 19mm × 5mm) - easy to handle and manoeuvre in tight spaces or on awkward loads
  • Equivalent to MIP-1120-58 - a direct replacement reference for procurement teams and sourcing departments
  • No powered tooling required - a firm squeeze of the handles completes the crimp, keeping the process simple and portable

How a Single Notch Sealer Works

A single notch sealer operates by crimping a metal seal around the overlapping ends of steel strapping. The tool presses a single notch - an indent - into the seal, which bites into the strap beneath it and locks the joint firmly in place. For this tool, a PN-1625 pusher seal is loaded into the sealer, the strap ends are positioned within the seal, and squeezing the handles completes the crimp. The result is a tight, secure joint suited to the load being strapped. This technique is well established in manual steel strapping and is particularly suited to applications where a consistent, hand-applied seal is required without the complexity of powered equipment.

Typical Applications

The single notch sealer 16mm steel strap tool is used across a broad range of industries where manual steel strapping forms part of the packaging or load-securing process. Common uses include bundling steel products, timber, pipes, and other long or heavy items for transport or storage. It is also widely used in manufacturing and distribution environments where loads are unitised onto pallets or skids before despatch. Because 16mm steel strapping sits in the mid-range of standard strap widths, this sealer suits moderate to heavy-duty securing tasks where polypropylene or polyester strapping would not provide sufficient strength or heat resistance. Typical users include warehouses, fabrication shops, steel merchants, timber yards, and freight handlers.

Who This Tool Suits

This single notch sealer 16mm steel strap tool is aimed at businesses carrying out manual steel strapping on a regular basis and needing a dependable, purpose-built tool that matches their strap width exactly. Using the correct sealer for a specific strap width matters both for the quality of the finished seal and for operator efficiency - a mismatched tool can result in poorly formed seals that compromise load security. For a complete manual steel strapping setup, pair this sealer with the Pacmasta HD L/Handle Steel Tensioner to 19mm, a heavy duty manual tensioner that works alongside hand sealers in industrial strapping operations.
