The HD PET sealer 12mm (equivalent to MIP-420-12) is a heavy-duty hand tool designed to crimp and close 12mm polyethylene (PET) strapping on bundled or palletised goods. It operates entirely by hand - no electricity or compressed air required - making it ready to use anywhere on a packing floor or loading dock without access to a power source.

Key Features of the HD PET Sealer 12mm

The following features make this tool a practical choice for operations that rely on manual hand strapping with 12mm PET strap:

  • Sized specifically for 12mm PET strapping - the jaw geometry is matched to 12mm strap, forming a correctly proportioned crimp every time and reducing the risk of under-crimped or over-stressed seals that can fail during transit.
  • Heavy-duty construction - built to handle the demands of daily use in warehouse and industrial environments.
  • Manual operation - requires no electricity or compressed air, so operators can seal loads at any point in the workflow without being tethered to a power outlet or air line.
  • Equivalent to MIP-420-12 - a recognised industry reference that makes this a direct replacement or straightforward upgrade for operations already using that standard.
  • Consistent seal quality - delivers repeatable clamping force on every seal, reducing the risk of load shift during road, rail, or sea freight.
  • Compact and easy to handle - keeps operator training time low and suits moderate to high strapping volumes.

Typical Applications

The HD PET sealer 12mm suits a wide range of packing and dispatch tasks. It is commonly used in warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution operations where cartons, timber, building materials, and other unitised loads are secured with 12mm PET strapping before freight. PET strapping is increasingly preferred over steel strapping in many of these settings because it is lighter, safer to handle, and absorbs impact without losing tension. Using a sealer correctly matched to the strap width is essential to achieving the full rated holding strength of the strap - which is why a dedicated 12mm tool matters rather than using a tool sized for a different strap width.

Part of a Complete Hand Strapping Setup

A sealer is one component in a broader hand-strapping workflow. To complete your setup alongside the HD PET sealer 12mm, you will also need 12mm PET strap, a tensioner to pull the strap tight before sealing, and a cutter or combination tool to trim the tail after crimping. It is important to use this sealer only with 12mm strap - matching tool to strap width is what ensures seal integrity under load.

If your operation uses wider strapping, the Pac-King HD PET Sealer for 16mm (Eqv MIP-420-58) covers the next common strap size and is available from the same range. For businesses considering a move to powered strapping on higher-volume lines, battery-operated combination tools are also available. Contact our team if you need guidance on selecting the right tools and consumables for your application. Prices include GST where applicable at the current rate.
