The flat pack steel tensioner 32mm MIP-1400 from Pac-King is a professional-grade tensioning tool designed for securing flat package loads with steel strapping. Compatible with strap widths from 19mm up to 32mm, this heavy-duty tool is equivalent to the widely recognised MIP-1400 specification and is manufactured in the USA. It suits industrial strapping operations that demand consistent, repeatable performance across a range of load types and strap sizes.

Key Features of the Flat Pack Steel Tensioner 32mm MIP-1400

The following features are based on the MIP-1400 specification for this flat pack steel tensioner 32mm tool:

  • Designed specifically for flat package loads - suited to loads with flat, stable bearing surfaces where tensioning leverage is applied horizontally
  • Compatible with steel strap widths from 19mm up to 32mm, providing versatility across a range of packaging configurations
  • Heavy-duty construction rated for premium, high-demand strapping operations
  • Equivalent to the MIP-1400 specification, a widely recognised standard in industrial steel strapping tooling
  • Manufactured in the USA, reflecting a quality standard commonly specified by professional packaging operations

How a Flat Pack Steel Tensioner Works

A flat pack steel tensioner is used to draw steel strapping tight around a packaged load before the strap is sealed. The tool grips the strap and uses a feed wheel mechanism to progressively apply tension until the required tightness is reached. With a 32mm capacity, this MIP-1400 equivalent tool can handle wider steel strap commonly used on heavier or bulkier loads that require greater strap strength to remain stable during transport or storage. Using a correctly rated tensioner for the strap width helps ensure even tension distribution and reduces the risk of strap slippage or seal failure in transit.

Typical Applications

The flat pack steel tensioner 32mm MIP-1400 is well suited to warehousing, manufacturing, and freight operations where heavy loads are unitised with steel strapping before dispatch. Typical use cases include bundling timber, steel sections, pipe, brickwork, and other dense or heavy materials that require a secure, flat strap configuration. It is particularly appropriate where operators are working with wider 32mm steel strap on pallet loads or flat-packed industrial goods that need firm, stable strapping to withstand road or rail transport. Operations already running 19mm strap on similar loads can also use this tensioner, as it accommodates the smaller strap width within its operating range.

If you are setting up a complete steel strapping workstation, pairing this flat pack steel tensioner 32mm MIP-1400 with a suitable strap dispensing solution is an important consideration. The Pac-King Steel Strap Dispenser - 32mm is designed to work alongside tools in this range, providing controlled, tangle-free strap feed during the tensioning and sealing process. Selecting the right dispenser alongside a quality flat pack steel tensioner helps maintain workflow efficiency and reduces handling time on the packaging line.
