PLASQUIP CALCULATOR
Plan the bend before choosing your heating setup
Estimate heating-zone width, minimum radius, sheet temperature and a suitable Shannon profile.
Water-cooled infrared bending machine for acrylic, PVC and other thermoplastic sheet
The PQB series makes clean, accurate bends in plastic sheet. An infrared heating tube softens a narrow line across the sheet, which can then be folded by hand to the required angle. Water flows through cooling channels on both sides of the heating zone, so only the bend line softens and the rest of the sheet stays flat.
Two working lengths are available. The PQB-700 bends sheet up to 650 mm wide and the PQB-1300 up to 1250 mm. Both models handle sheet from 1 to 6 mm thick, and the temperature can be adjusted to suit the material.
Applications
- Signage, illuminated light boxes and advertising displays
- Point-of-sale stands, display cabinets and retail shelving
- Aquarium and fish-tank panels
- Architectural models and school design and technology classes
- Shop fitting, decorative trims and wall-corner guards
- Doors, windows and handcrafts
Key features
- Infrared heating tube heats the full bend line quickly and evenly
- Adjustable temperature control up to 600 °C, set to suit the material type and thickness
- Adjustable heating gap (0–20 mm) controls the width of the softened zone
- Water cooling on both sides of the heating tube stops the sheet distorting outside the bend
- Power and water connections sit at the same end, so the machine is quick to set up, pack away or mount on any workbench
- Angle adjuster (0–160°) and length stop (40–330 mm) supplied as standard for accurate, repeatable bends on production runs
- Compact, lightweight and economical to run
- Supplied with an Australian plug
Suitable materials
Acrylic (PMMA/Perspex), PVC, polycarbonate, ABS, polypropylene and other thermoplastic sheet from 1 to 6 mm thick.
What's included
- PQB bending machine
- Angle adjuster and length adjuster
- Spare heating tube
- Power lead with Australian plug
- Two water hoses and a 40 W submersible pump
A water container is not supplied. We recommend a bucket or tank of at least 20 L, and changing the water if it reaches 50 °C during long runs.
