Introducing our collection of industrial water chillers designed specifically for various applications, including CO2 laser engraving machines, plastic bending strip heaters, spindle motors, and more. Equipped with high speed fans, passive cooling technology and remarkable heat dissipation capacity with cost-effective price make our collection a popular choice. Choose our industrial water chillers for efficient and reliable cooling solutions tailored to your specific needs.
Q: If my chiller provides 10 kW of cooling at 200 L/h, what happens if I increase the flow to 300 L/h?
A: The cooling capacity remains the same at 10 kW. Increasing the flow rate means each litre of water carries less heat, resulting in a lower temperature difference (∆T) across the system. The total amount of heat removed per hour doesn’t change.
Q: If I decrease the flow to 100 L/h, do I need less cooling capacity?
A: No — the cooling requirement is still 10 kW. Lowering the flow rate increases the temperature difference across the system because each litre of water carries more heat. This can push the system outside of safe or efficient operating conditions.
Q: Does a chiller's cooling capacity change with different flow rates?
A: No. A chiller’s cooling capacity in kW is fixed and does not change with flow rate. What does change is the temperature difference of the water (∆T). A lower flow increases ∆T, and a higher flow decreases it — but the chiller still removes the same total heat.
Q: What if I need to reduce the water flow below the chiller’s specified minimum?
A: If your process requires a lower flow rate than your chiller is designed for, you should not restrict flow directly. Instead, use one or both of the following solutions:
Our chillers do not have variable capacity, so maintaining proper flow is critical to reliable operation.
Q: What type of water should I use in my industrial chiller?
A: The best choice is deionised, distilled or purified water. These help prevent scale buildup and keep your chiller running at peak performance.
Q: How often should I change the water?
A: As a general rule, change the water every 3 months. However, if your chiller is operating in a dusty or harsh environment, we recommend changing it monthly or even more frequently to avoid contamination.
Q: What’s the ideal room temperature for my chiller?
A: Your chiller should be installed in a well-ventilated space, with an ambient temperature below 45°C. Good airflow helps maintain stable cooling performance.
Q: How can I stop my chiller from freezing in winter?
A: If you’re in a colder region, especially during winter, freezing can be a real concern. To prevent this, you can either add a built-in heater or use an approved antifreeze solution. Before adding any antifreeze, we recommend reaching out to our support team for guidance: sales@plasquip.com.au
